Hope Amidst the Outbreak
Mayor Cantrell has extended the stay-at-home order to May 16th, and while many of us are isolated, there are other ways in which people come together during this crisis.
~ A 17-year-old high school student from London created a COVID-19 tracking website so thorough that some news reporters said he’s rivaling efforts in Silicon Valley. Not only is it free to view, but the teen reportedly turned down billion-dollar offers from advertisers looking to latch onto the site.
~ The Krewe of Read Beans has started an effort to “feed the frontlines,” paying out-of-work musicians to deliver food to hospital workers.
~ The New Orleans City Counsel has launched SewDat.com, where people can donate and request vital face coverings.
